Backgrounds to Dance.

In this post I am going to tell you a bit about where the different types of dances came from, and some famous people who are famous for that particular dance.

Hip-Hop: Hip-Hop first came around in the 1970's from New York City. Hip-Hop did not first start out as a dance. It was firstly a type of music which spread world wide quite quickly. Disk Jockeys and Rappers were famous for their style of Hip-Hop music. Those who loved to listen to this music then created a dance which was the most popular style of dance at this time. Words also come along with the hip-hop culutre, such as 'homie'. Now-a-days hip-hop is the most popular type of dance around the world.

Shuffling: Also can be known as the Melbourne Shuffle. Michael Jackson is famous for this type of dance. It is a style of street and rave dance that came around in the 1980's. The basic movements of this style of dancing are a fast heel and toe action. Arm movements can also be used in the dance. In the early to mid 2000 the popularity of the Melbourne Shuffle on YouTube began to calm, but not die bringing a new age of shufflers. The dance began to refer to what some people called 'OldSchool'. This shuffling consisted of mostly of wide variations of the t-step, the running man and also has glides and spins. Although this is known as OldSchool, today it has created a new style, different from the way the people in the 90's danced.
